The world’s largest manufacturer of Golf Carts and Low-Speed Electric Vehicles, Marshell recently announced a new range of golf carts and utility carts. The 2017 models include new industry leading designs. All models have been given new bodies, with a distinctive an eye-catching front end that features sleek, wrap around headlights and indicators on all models.
There are ten new models in the range, starting with the entry-level golf cart, the DG-C2. The new models feature six, eight volt Trojan Batteries from the United States as standard. Optional battery upgrades include eight of the Trojan lead acid batteries in six volts, for increased travelling range. Lithium batteries are also available as an option. However, these remain very expensive at this time.
Each model utilises the industry standard Delta-Q charger which is manufactured in Canada. All models will continue to use the American made Curtis Controller. The new DG-C2 offers alloy wheels as standard and comes with twin golf bag holders. This cart features an amazing 3.2-metre turning circle and climbing capacity of thirty percent.
Updated Suspension and Steering
All models now use double-ended, self-compensating, rack and pinion steering, which performs more smoothly than the single rack and pinion previously used. The front suspension has been improved with the introduction of double A-arm independent suspension, with adjustable shock absorbers. All models now offer camber adjustment, making the ride more stable.
The new range provides increased ground clearance of one hundred and twenty millimetres, which is the highest in the industry. Other manufacturers are offering 100-114 millimetres. A new brake pedal has been introduced with ‘Stop’ and ‘Park’ labels prominently displayed on the new aluminium alloy pedal.
The standard DG series golf cart is available with four seats in two different configurations, (two facing forward and two facing backwards on the DG-C2 model).
The DG-C4 provides four forward facing seats and has the option of an additional two rear facing seats.
The DG-C6 has six seats facing forward and can be increased to eight seats with the optional two rear facing seats.
The DG-4 and DG-6 Series vehicles utilise the KDS 4KW, 48Volt electric motor, while the base models use a 3KW version. All of these vehicles have a maximum speed of twenty-kilometres per hour. Headlights, indicators, horn and alloy wheels are all standard equipment. Options include safety belts, rear vision mirrors, rain covers, ball-washers, ice-box, sand bottle, warning lights, PA system, and cargo boxes.
New Range of Electric Utility Carts
Marshell’s range-topping electric utility carts, the DH-C2 and DH-C4 have received a total revamp. Each model has a new body, and the front tray has been removed. The rear tray is now made from aluminium instead of steel, reducing the overall weight. Both models come with a row of LED lights at the top of the windscreen, making the vehicle more usable at night. New seats feature high-density foam instead of cushions, making them more durable and comfortable; these are available in black or white.
The utility carts come with a 48V, 4KW DC motor as standard. The standard DC motor provides ample power over all terrain. However, the motors can be upgraded to a 4.8KW DC, or a 5KW AC, which will allow a top speed of forty kilometres per hour. These high clearance utility carts are suitable for most terrains and have the ability to climb thirty percent inclines. All motors feature downhill regenerative braking with rollaway protection for safe decent.
The DH-C2 comes standard with two seats and two golf bag holders at the rear. Optional configurations include two rear facing seats, and a rear tray. Both carts come with a large emergency shut-off switch, headlights, indicator lamps and a horn. Options include safety belts, rear vision mirrors, rain covers, ball-washers, ice-box, sand bottle, warning lights, PA system, and sound system.
Both utility carts now have improved suspension and steering.

The DG-LSV2 industry leading Low-Speed Electric Vehicle comes with disc brakes, rear drum brakes and a top speed of forty kilometres per hour. The DG-LSV2 is street legal in the United States and Europe. Standard equipment includes a glass windscreen, windscreen wiper and Trojan Batteries. Options include rear view mirrors, safety belts, sound system and rain covers.
The two-seat DG-LSV2 comes standard with two golf bag holders at the rear. Alternatively, you can order the vehicle without the golf bag holders, but with two lockable storage compartments. Other configurations include two rear facing seats, or two rear facing seats with a detachable bracket to hold two golf bags.
